NICARAGUA TRIP UPDATE #3

The Saturday afternoon performance seem to end as quickly as it began.  They only got through their first song when the downpour of rain hit.  They waited awhile hoping that the rain would let up so they could continue, as the crowd that had gathered huddled together under an overhang across the street.  The team’s spirit would not be drowned by the rain.  The kids ran into the street and performed several extra skits and Chad brought the gospel in the pouring rain.  God moved and several made decisions for Christ.  Bill said that this experience seemed to truly bond the team together.

Later, back at the host home, the team laid out all the sound equipment on towels praying when everything dried out it would still work.  God answered those prayers, and all was in working order in time for church the next day.

On Sunday the team ministered at a church in Sebaco, where Neil B. brought the message.  Later they trained the church’s youth group in some of the skits.  This church is working towards having a team of youth that can travel locally sharing the gospel through skits/dramas too.  We hope to be able to leave some of our sound equipment there to help support the church.

Today is a national holiday in Nicaragua, similar to our 4th of July.  Our host thought it wouldn’t be a good day for our team to be out doing programs, so this is their day “off” to sight-see and have some fun.  They are headed to the beach on the Pacific Ocean side.
